Google Deletes Millions of Reviews as TikTok faces backlash

Google has deleted millions of negative reviews claiming that those reviews were implanted by
hundreds of fake accounts throughout the internet.
As stated in the Android as well as Apple’s marketplace, TikTok is a family-friendly app.
Furthermore, it refers to “TikTok is the destination for mobile videos. On TikTok, short-form videos are exciting, spontaneous, and genuine. Whether you’re a sports fanatic, a pet enthusiast, or just looking for a laugh, there’s something for everyone on TikTok. All you have to do is watch, engage with what you like, skip what you don’t, and you’ll find an endless stream of short videos that feel personalized just for you.

With the menacing Covid-19 on its peak, India had another trending matter which was more popular in social media entitled “TikTok vs YouTube”. The feud between TikTok India vs YouTube India started when at first a so-called TikTok celebrity Amir Siddiqui (with likely 3.8 million followers) dropped a video defending the hate upon Indian-TikTok community. As in the video, he said that the TikTok community is getting hate by the YouTube creators and the local people especially their fans.

Mr. Siddiqui claimed that the Indian YouTube creators technically roast over the TikTok content and they were simply taking the help of TikTok content to boost their respective content on YouTube. With Mr. Siddiqui dropping his video, the general public found it quite unreal and unconvincing as they referred YouTube as a harder platform and needed a hell lot of dedication as compared to TikTok where you make videos with its length less than a minute.
Then, responding to the opinions made by Siddiqui in the video, a large number of Indian Youtubers were busy dropping videos against the TikTok community.
Some famous names in the platform dropped the views against the TikTok community among which Carryminati aka Ajey Nagar gained a huge appreciation and support from the fellow YouTubers as well as local audiences. His video was a record-breaking video with almost 10 million likes in it but was later taken down by YouTube as a matter of cyberbullying.
As a matter of fact, along with Ajey’s and other creator’s videos got deleted as of a case of cyberbullying, the local people especially their respective fans/supporters started a campaign which later on led to the fall of ratings of the official TikTok app.

Whereas, in the beginning, the app had almost about 4.5 ratings, it dropped to 1.2 within few days on official Android Marketplace.

After TikTok became embroiled in the backlash, Google removed more than 5 million of its recent one-star reviews as a Google spokesman said “corrective action”. With the millions of negative reviews deleted, the official TikTok app’s rating has risen from 1.2 to 4.4 in the Google Play Store.
