If there is anyone right now making a huge headline and dominance on UFC, I’m sure that the name “Khabib Nurmagomedov” crosses everyone’s head. Khabib is a Russian professional Mixed Martial Artist who is a current “UFC Lightweight Champion” and of- course holds a title of a two-time Combat “Sambo World Champion” which is also a form of martial art. He made his professional MMA debut in “September 2008” and compiled four wins in under a month. Nurmagomedov is the first Muslim to win a UFC title.

Now everyone must be wondering “what is so special about him? there are a lot of good UFC fighters”, well what is special is he has been dominating UFC in an unimaginable way. He has a 28-wins 0-losses under his belt, which makes him the person to hold the longest active undefeated streak in MMA. We can really nickname him as “The Unstoppable” without a doubt. Nurmagomedov employs a wrestling-based style of relentless pressure against his opponents often described as “Mauling“. Using a variety of takedowns, he exhausts his opponents by forcing his weight and attacks with measured strikes his opponents are often unable to defend.

Khabib is just a relentless fighter, he has rarely been phased through his UFC tenure, and any time he has been faced with an obstacle he quickly overcomes it to exert his own will upon his opponent. He has dominated every opponent in his path like Conor McGregor, Michael Johnson, Abel Trujillo, etc. He won’t give up until he gets it. The “Never give up” motto perfectly fits his persona. His most notable fight is with “Conor Mcgregor” at UFC 229 drew 2.4 million pay-per-view buys, the most ever for an MMA event. He was trained in sambo, judo, and wrestling and his style of grappling has made him one of the most dominant athletes in the history of MMA. He is ranked 2nd in MMA top 10 Pound-for-Pound fighter by the Forbes magazine. As of September 2019, he is the most followed Russian celebrity on Instagram.
